The terms, briefly.
Fare is a small service run by a small team. These terms are written to be read. By signing in you agree to them; if you do not, do not use Fare.
What Fare is
Fare is a household pantry, shopping, and cooking tool. It reads receipts, barcodes, and shelf photos, grades products against a nutrition framework you choose, suggests what to buy and cook, and can add items to a connected Kroger cart. It is in active development; features change, and some are marked as early.
Not medical advice
Grades, swaps, meal plans, and coach answers are generated from public product data and your chosen framework. They are informational only and are not medical, nutritional, or allergy advice. Allergen filtering is a convenience based on what you typed, not a guarantee; always read the label on the product in your hand.
Your account and household
- You sign in with an emailed link. Keep control of that inbox; anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- A household is shared. Members you add see and can change the same pantry, lists, and settings. Add only people who should.
- You are responsible for what you upload. Upload receipts, photos, and recipes you have the right to use.
Acceptable use
- Use Fare for your own household. Do not scrape it, resell it, or use it to build a competing dataset.
- AI features are rate-limited per household. Circumventing those limits, probing other households, or attacking the service ends your access.
- Kroger features run under your own Kroger account and Kroger’s terms. Fare adds what you ask it to add and nothing else. Fare is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by The Kroger Co.
Your content
You own what you upload. You give Fare permission to store it, show it to your household, and send the parts needed to the providers named in the privacy policy to do the work you asked for (grading, planning, answering). Delete it any time from Settings or by asking.
Paid plans
A paid tier exists but is not currently being sold. If that changes, pricing and terms will be shown before you are charged, billing runs through Stripe, and you can cancel from Settings at any time with access continuing to the end of the paid period.
Availability and liability
Fare runs on a single server with nightly backups. It is provided as is, without warranties of uptime or fitness for a purpose. To the extent the law allows, Fare’s liability to you is limited to what you paid for the service in the past twelve months, which for a free account is nothing. We will tell you about outages and data incidents that affect you.
Ending things
You can stop using Fare at any time and ask for your household to be deleted. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we will say why. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, United States.
